frequently asked questions

1. How far in advance of the wedding should we book?

The sooner the better! It’s always advisable to book as soon as you have the date set to avoid any disappointment. I take bookings up to three years in advance — so there’s plenty of time to get everything sorted. If you want me to photograph your wedding, please get in touch

2. How do we book you to photograph our wedding?

Drop me an email or give me a call with the details of the location, date etc. and as soon as I have checked I'm available, we'll arrange a chat to discuss your wedding plans in more detail. To finalise the booking I will then send you a contract along with a request for an initial payment of £550.

3. What is your style and do you take any family or formal group photos?

Take a look through this site and get a feel for what motivates me. My style is natural, creative, cinematic and most of all fun! I capture the day as it happens without set poses or forced smiles. I do, however, believe that including some formal shots is important, but that’s down to you. I’d suggest no more than ten of these shots, so that they can be done quickly and you can get on with enjoying your day! After all, that’s what you’re there to do.

Wedding Photography FAQs

4. We are getting married overseas, can we still book you to photograph our wedding?

Absolutely! I love to travel and have photographed weddings all over the world. I am always keen to discover new places and share your wedding day with you - no matter where it is!

Whereas my UK rates include travel and accommodation, overseas weddings will not include travel and accommodation, which I would add on top of my usual fees. That said, I always aim to keep these to a minimum, so there’ll be no surprise five star hotel bills to settle! Get in touch and we can discuss your requirements and plans for your big day in more detail.

Cinematic Wedding Photography

5. How many photographs would you expect to take on our wedding day?

There’s no limit to the amount of shots I would take on your wedding day, but I would aim to give you at least 500 images which will showcase your wedding day from the start to the end. I am a firm believer that what I do is quality over quantity, so the shots I give you will be the cream of the crop.

6. How soon after our wedding will we be able to see our photos?

I take great care in the post production work of your photographs, so I aim to provide the full gallery of images to you six to eight weeks after your wedding date. Before this you will receive a selection of highlights from your wedding day within 72 hours after your wedding.
The images will be available for you to view via the secure online client access area of the website. You will be provided with a unique code to allow you access to the gallery, which you can also pass on to friends and family if you wish. Should you wish, at a small extra cost, I can also send them to you on a presentation USB.

7. Can we print directly from the images that you provide?

All of the edited images of your wedding day can be accessed via your private gallery hosted on my website forever! The images are in a high resolution format to allow you to print directly from the files provided. You are free to print your wedding photographs or use them as you wish!

8. Can we order prints from your website?

Anyone who has access to your private online gallery can order any fine art prints and artwork easily.

9. What happens to my wedding files?

I save multiple copies of wedding files on external hard drives to ensure that they are stored safely. However, we will only commit to saving raw and jpeg files for a 12 month period after your wedding date.

I can only guarantee access to your files for 12 months after your wedding as I have no control over third party sites. However, I have been doing this for many years and never encountered a problem with the sites I use.

10. What kind of album do you offer?

Please see the Prices section of the website for information on the albums that I offer.

Wedding Albums

11. How does my album design process work?

I will ask you to choose the images that you would like to be included by selecting individual photos in the client area of my website. Using your selection of images I will tell the story of your day through your album. I’ll email you a proof of the album design for you to approve. Once you are happy, I will send the album to be professionally printed with your choice of cover and personalised text.

12. Do you provide video coverage?

No, I only specialise in photography, but I do highly recommend that you contact Stefan from YSD MEDIA. We have worked together many times at venues throughout the UK and also overseas at destination weddings. He produces some exceptional wedding videos.

13. CAN WE RECEIVE THE RAW IMAGES FROM OUR WEDDING

I never supply raw images as so much of the magic happens in the editing process. Be assured that you’ll always receive the very best images of your wedding day.

14. WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ON MY WEDDING DAY?

Nothing – you’ll still have an incredible day and your photos will reflect that. The reality is that no matter where you plan to get married, whether home or abroad there will always be the chance of rain. I’m a professional and can adapt to any situation so don’t worry and remember rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck!
